Are you a coach, consultant, educator, or professional with expertise in any field interested in creating an online education-based business? You might be an expert in coding, welding, project management, or even knitting. There are many different ways that you can create an online education-based business by sharing your knowledge and expertise with others. Read more below to learn 14 different ways to create an income stream by monetizing your expertise online.

Create high-quality written content that will resonate with your learners

  1. Creating high-quality written content is a great way to earn money online. Provide educational content in your area of expertise through blog articles (on your blog or as a guest on another blog). You can post your content on medium.com or Linkedin.com and then include a link back to that content on your website or blog. You can monetize your blog through advertisements, affiliate commissions from links in your blog posts, product sales of digital educational content you’ve created, membership fees from a paid membership site, course fees, or even coaching fees.
  2. Write an e-book explaining how to do something within your expertise and offer for sale on Amazon.com or Lulu.com. Writing a book is a way to position yourself as an expert and enhances your credibility in your area of expertise. Writing an e-book is a great way to share your knowledge and help more people learn something you know or to improve their lives.
  3. Create an email newsletter that you can use to share educational content, sales offers, and affiliate products. Creating an email newsletter is a great way to nurture and build relationships with customers, prospects, and readers by providing them with the kind of information they want.
  4. Businesses will pay you to write educational content for their websites. You can monetize by writing articles on topics related to your expertise and then pitching those articles to relevant websites and blogs. You could also write articles for other individuals and companies, post them on your website or blog, and then include links back to those articles in emails you send out promoting them. Creating high-quality written content is a great way to create an online education-based business.

Become an online tutor or offer workshops for students who are learning your topic of expertise

5. Give paid seminars or workshops on your expertise, either in person or via webinars. Your meetings and workshops can range from just 30 minutes to multiple days in length.

6. You can provide 1×1 or group virtual training or coaching sessions via Skype or Zoom. You can record the live sessions and send them to your students after the session.

7. Partner with schools, colleges, universities, or tutoring companies to provide tutoring services for their students. While creating an online education-based business, think about the topic in which you have expertise and topics that are in high demand. Topics such as SAT/ACT, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science are in demand.

Offer coaching or consulting services to individuals or organizations that need advice on doing something within your expertise.

8. Reach out to companies who can benefit from what you know and offer consulting services to them. For example, an expert web designer can provide consulting services to new companies to create their website.

9. Offer consulting services for individuals within your field of expertise. For example, if you’re an expert web designer, you can provide individual consulting for those who want to learn web design and know how to begin their careers in the field.

10. Find existing education-based companies in the business of teaching your area of expertise. Look for book publishers that publish college textbooks, certification providers, and continuing or professional education companies. Many education-based companies are always looking for contract, part or full-time content creators or curriculum developers.
